FRANKFORT, KY. – Big Game Coordinator Tina Brunjes answers questions about elk hunting in Kentucky on “Kentucky Afield” television this weekend, August 2 and 3.
This year, nearly 34,000 people applied for one of the 400 elk permits drawn for this season’s hunt. Although this year’s quota hunt drawing is over, many hunters still want to know more about this new hunting opportunity in Kentucky. Host Tim Farmer discusses the issues with Brunjes, and provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about elk hunting.
Elsewhere, big carp are catching big air on Cumberland River below Barkley Dam. Biologists with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources have witnessed these rough fish leaping 6 feet and more out of the water.
“Kentucky Afield” is a production of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife. It is the longest continuously-running outdoor television show in the nation. The program airs Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern /7:30 p.m. Central and is repeated Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern/3 p.m. Central on KET 1.
