The Arizona Game and Fish Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a poacher that killed a large bull elk sometime during the weekend of Sept. 6. The poaching occurred near Scholz Lake and Garland Prairie along Forest Road 141, just east of Williams.

Game Commission Awards Elk Licenses to 45 Hunters - Sep. 22, 2008
On Saturday, Sept. 20, visitors to the Pennsylvania Outdoor Elk Expo witnessed the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s public drawing to award elk licenses to 45 hunters for the upcoming season, which will be held Nov. 3-8. There were 17,432 individuals eligible for the drawing. All 45 hunters selected to receive a license will be mailed a confirmation letter within a week.

Application Deadline For Elk Guide Permits is Oct. 10 - Sep. 22, 2008
Anyone interested in applying to be an elk guide for the upcoming November elk hunt should submit a completed application to the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Bureau of Wildlife Protection by Friday, Oct. 10. Elk guide permits cost $10 for residents and $25 for nonresidents.
