Big Changes Await Gunnison Elk Hunters - Mar. 02, 2010
Gunnison, Colo.--Gunnison elk hunters will see significant regulation and license changes for the 2010 big game seasons. Two groups--archery hunters and second-season rifle hunters--are affected most by changes to license allocation and should plan carefully before arriving to the Gunnison area this fall.

Late Season Cow Elk Hunt Opportunity - Oct. 29, 2009
MEEKER, Colo- The Colorado Division of Wildlife and a private landowner in the Meeker area are teaming up to offer a special late season cow elk hunting opportunity in late November and December. Six hunters will be selected for this unguided elk hunt on the 2,900 acre Berryman property. Selected hunters must have a valid late season private land only cow elk license for unit 23 or an unfilled youth elk license from an earlier rifle season.

DOW Amending Grand Mesa Herd Plans to Match Public Management Goals - Oct. 29, 2009
The Colorado Division of Wildlife is revising Data Analysis Unit plans for deer on the north side of the Grand Mesa and elk on the entire Grand Mesa. The plans were last updated by the Wildlife Commission in 2007 following a lengthy public input process, however new herd modeling methods have provided a refined population estimate.
